My background
I’m a developer and trader from South Africa. Over the last several years I have specialised in MetaTrader platforms (MQL4 and MQL5), building Expert Advisors (EAs), indicators, and backend integrations that help traders automate proven strategies and manage risk. I combine programming discipline with trading knowledge — reading price action, understanding structural order flow and implementing safety-first logic to reduce live-trading surprises.
My projects range from compact scalpers to complex systems with spread and slippage controls, adaptive filters, licensing and dashboard integrations. I’ve developed systems for indices (US30, NAS100), commodities (XAUUSD), forex pairs and algorithmic multi-symbol strategies. Each development includes careful handling of trading edge cases: broker symbol differences, overnight swaps, market gaps, and order rejections.
Approach & methodology
My development approach is simple and repeatable:
- Specification first: Clear inputs and rules so behavior is predictable.
- Prototype & test: Backtests and short forward-tests on demo accounts.
- Safe defaults: Conservative lot sizing, max drawdown guards, optional breakeven and trailing stop logic.
- Integration-readiness: Licensing hooks and alerting to integrate with web dashboards or Telegram channels.
My code style emphasises readability and maintainability: modular functions, comments, and a simple panel for non-technical users to change inputs. I also provide runtime logs and clearly labelled magic numbers so you can monitor trades and debug if needed.
